About the Author
The programme was designed and written by Elaine McLoughlin, a secondary school teacher of English and History at St. Vincent’s Secondary School, Glasnevin. Elaine has 11 years’ experience teaching and has been a Behaviour of Learning teacher since 2017 and coordinator for first year induction at St. Vincent’s.

Elaine has a special interest in how students transition. Having implemented her own programme in the school, Elaine felt that all schools could benefit from a comprehensive programme that not only supports students in settling into secondary school but sets expectations and gives support to help students get the most out of their first year in secondary school.
